Evenementen Eeuwfeest Legioen

Beste Legionairs,

Ik wil u op de hoogte brengen van enkele belangrijke evenementen in het kader van het Eeuwfeest. Wilt u deze informatie aub zo spoedig mogelijk delen met de aangesloten praesidia.

1. De Mis voor de Opening van het Eeuwfeest zal zijn op vrijdag 3 September 2021 om 19.30 GMT (20.30 Nederlandse tijd) en kan vanuit vrijwel de hele wereld online bekeken worden.
   Deze viering zal plaats­vin­den in de Sint Nicolaas van Myra kerk in Dublin, tegenover het MyraHuis, waar het Legioen 100 jaar geleden begon.

   De aarts­bis­schop van Dublin, Mgr Dermot Farrell zal voorgaan in deze Mis.
2. Uit dankbaarheid voor de overvloedige genades ontvangen door het lidmaat­schap van het Legioen zal er een 33-daagse Voor­be­rei­ding voor de Ware Devotie tot Maria beginnen op 5 Augustus 2021 en eindigen op 7 September 2021 waarna de Toewijding op 8 September, de feestdag van de Geboorte van Onze Lieve Vrouw.

   Gedurende de 33 dagen zijn dagelijks Ware Devotie overdenkingen en gebeden, geleid door legionairen uit Dublin op Zoom te volgen -

   om 20:00 uur GMT (21.00 uur Nederlandse tijd).

   Daarnaast kunnen lokale Legioen­besturen - speciaal in andere tijdzones - hun eigen voor­be­rei­ding organiseren. Het is maar een suggestie als Legionairen hun Toewijding aan de Ware Devotie willen hernieuwen.

3. Graag uw aandacht voor het Eeuwfeest Maria Legionis tijd­schrift met daarin een bood­schap van Mary Murphy, Praeses van het Concilium. Het artikel kan gevonden worden op de website van het Concilium: www.legionofmary.ie

Nodig aub familie, vrienden, biddende leden en andere bekenden uit om aan de bovenstaande evenementen deel te nemen.

Dear Legionares

I would like to update you on a couple of virtual events pertaining to the Centenary. I kindly invite you to share this information with your attached praesidia as soon as possible.

1. The Opening Mass for the Centenary will be at 19.30Hours GMT on Friday 3rd September 2021 and may be viewed virtually from anywhere in the world. This celebration will be in St-Nicholas-ofMyra Church, Francis Street, Dublin, which is opposite Myra House where the Legion started 100 years ago.

   The Archbishop of Dublin, Dermot Farrell will be the main celebrant.

2. In thanksgiving for the abundant graces received through Legion Membership, there will be a 33 Day Preparation for True Devotion to Mary Consecration beginning on 5 th August 2021 and finishing on 7 th September 2021 with the Consecration on the 8th September which is the Feast of Our Lady’s Nativity.

   During the 33 days, daily TDM reflections and prayers will be led by Dublin Legionaries on ZOOM - MEETING ID 81140833503, PASS CODE 876433 at 20:00Hours GMT.

   Alternatively, Legion Councils anywhere - especially in other time zones - may wish to organise their own 33-Day Preparation or do it privately or in local groups in a parish etc. It’s just a suggestion if Legionaries wish to renew the TDM Consecration at this time.

3. In honour of the Legion Centenary, permission for gaining a Plenary Indulgence has been granted to the Legion of Mary. We now await a decree which will come through the papal nuncio and we will then inform you of the conditions for this Indulgence. Concilium will update the website www.legionofmary.ie with this information as soon as the Indulgence conditions become available.
4. Please note that there is an electronic copy of The Centenary Maria Legionis Journal on the Concilium website and it contains a Centenary Message from Concilium president, Mary Murphy; see www.legionofmary.ie.
